In fact, with regular use, the PC was making "ping-pong" sounds every few seconds.Whether it was my PC, the driver, or the device that couldn't keep up, this device simply didn't work out for me. The only thing odd was that it seemed that whenever I generated network or printer traffic through this device, I would hear the "ping-pong" sounds typically heard when a USB device is disconnected / reconnected.

All my devices were recognized, driver installation was smooth, etc. Maybe even a firewire? No need for a pass-through video.So anyway, I was disappointed by the lack of keyboard & mouse ports, but hooked it up anyway. But I would rather have keyboard, mouse, or additional USB ports. All it really does is to add a few inches of video cable. It doesn't make life any easier since you still have to connect the video cable. You can connect your monitor to the Belkin, then connect a video cable from the Belkin to your PC's video card. That's a serious shortcoming.As for pass-through video. It did not have PS/2 style mouse and keyboard ports.
It also has video passthrough, which I'll come back to in a moment.

I really don't use serial or parallel.This device has the connectors for serial, parallel, two USB2 ports, and Ethernet networking. My goal was to connect my laptop to the power and USB cable and have the mouse, external keyboard, network cable, and other USB devices all tied in through the port replicator. This works strictly as a USB hub.ġ Interesting Choice of Features I purchased this device because I wanted a generic, USB-based port replicator. Could not use both desk top monitor and laptop monitor simultaneously. If I plug the StarTech adpater into the Belkin Dock it wont sense on the MacBook either. I tried different USB-C/Thunderbolt ports on the Mac and it didnt make a difference. I'll definitely bookmark Resale Addict and recommend highly.ĥ Perfect Item Meets my expectations!! I'm so jaded by poor customer service these days and it's really great to see someone who takes their customers seriously. The seller (Resale Addict) went above and beyond though - checked up and voluntarily refunded my $$. I took a chance on a resale and the item wasn't exactly what I had planned so I figured I was SOL.
